Khatushyam ji lakhi mela attracts scores of devotees

Sikar: The famous Lakhi fair started in Sikar’s Khatu Shyamji on Monday with devotees thronging the temple to have a darshan of the Lord. Devotees began to queue up from Saturday night and could be seen on the route from Ringas and Manda Mor to Khatu.

Meanwhile, the Khatushyamji temple has been decorated and 150 artists from across the country made an archway with flowers. A special tilak was done on Monday. Darshan will not be allowed for some time. The temple doors will open at 6 pm today. Fair Magistrate Govind Singh Bhinchar said, “All kinds of preparations have been completed for the fair.”

The fair will be for 11 days and around 30 lakh people are likely to visit. A total of 5000 police and security personnel have been deployed to keep the crowd in check and 170 medical workers are also deployed.
