Chittorgarh: A 21-yearold girl, hailing from J&K, allegedly died by suicide on Friday by hanging herself to a ceiling fan in hostel of Mewar University here. Police informed the deceased has been identified as Afrina Firdosh, a student of BRIT third year. “The incident took place in the Gangrar area of Chittorgarh. The victim allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a fan inside the hostel of the varsity on Saturday.

The victim was being harassed by a boy, following which, she took extreme step,” police said. “Victim’s roommate alerted the university administration after she could not find her after searching for hours. Later, Afrina was found hanging in a room located on fourth floor of the hostel building,” police added.
