Guava orchards catch fire in Swmr, 2,000 trees burnt

Sawai Madhopur: A massive fire broke out in guava orchards in Sawai Madhopur district which destroyed nearly 2000 guava trees on Sunday. The orchards in Kundali Nadi village of Malarna Dungar subdivision caught fire due to unknown reasons. With strong winds, the fire spread and engulfed more than 20 bighas of land quickly. Farmers and other villagers tried to control the fire by throwing water through tube well but they failed. Later, fire brigades doused the flames.

Patwari Roop Singh Meena said that as per the initial estimate, the fire has caused a loss of more than Rs 38 lakh.
