Economic crimes must be dealt with firmly, says Acting CJ Shrivastava

Udaipur: The two-day conference of the West Zone of Union of India Counselling in Udaipur ended on Sunday. The closing ceremony, held in a private hotel, was presided over by Acting Chief Justice MM Shrivastava and Justice Ashok Gaur. On behalf of the panel, a detailed report will be sent to the Central Government on the suggestion of changes in the law. In this, emphasis will be given on new laws and strengthening the government’s side on cybercrime cases, white collar crime and redundant property. More than 300 advocates from states from across the country participated in the conference. The issue of national security was also discussed. On the second day, discussion was done to rein in economic crimes. Justice Shrivastava said that economic crimes are the main reasons that cause the most damage to the economy of our country. “We now have to deal with economic crimes strongly,” he said.
