CM Gehlot questions PM Modi’s silence on communal clashes

Dungarpur: Senior Congress leader and three-time Rajasthan CM Gehlot on Monday questioned PM Modi’s silence on the communal clashes that erupted across the nation since Ram Navami.

“Why has Modi not condemned riots? The HM should also show courage and order a thorough probe. That is only way the truth will come out, regarding who is behind the conspiracy to stoke unrest and which political party is benefiting from it,” Congress leader stated.

“The atmosphere in the country is completely vitiated. There have been riots in seven states, clashes erupted during Ram Navami celebrations and before that, there was tension in Karauli. There is one thing in common in all these incidents, the same modus operandi is being followed,” said Gehlot, and called on HM Amit Shah to order a probe into the riots.

Asserting that Cong is main Opposition party in country, CM lashed out at ruling BJP for using central agencies to go after rival political leaders who dare raise their voices against it. Nevertheless, an undeterred Cong will always stand by the people, CM Gehlot said.
