AXIS BANK ROBBED OF CASH, GOLD WORTH `1 CR WITHIN 30 MINUTES

Alwar: In a daring daylight robbery, around six armed robbers looted cash and gold worth around Rs 1 crore from a branch of Axis bank in Alwar’s Bhiwadi area in less than 30 minutes. The miscreants also the assaulted the bank employees. The miscreants, first, locked all the bank employees in the strong room and after looting the cash and other items kept in the locker at gunpoint, fled on a bike.

After getting information, the Bhiwadi police reached the spot. Additional SP Vipin Kumar Sharma and DSP reached the spot and took stock of the situation. IG Umesh Chandra Dutta has also reached the crime scene. The IG said that some important inputs have been received and the police are working on it. An estimated over Rs one crore have been looted. As per the officials, robbers had brought bags with them and they quickly stuffed as much valuables and cash as they could in them before they fled the scene of the crime. Police are scanning the CCTV camera footage to identify the miscreants and claim to arrest them soon.
