Ajmer discom: State’s 1st GSS with zero electricity theft and power cuts

Ajmer: The Ajmer Discom’s Kakra GSS in Buhana area of Jhunjhunu district has become the first such power house with zero electricity and no power cuts due to faults. The picture has changed in just three months with the coordinated efforts of the villagers and the department of 11 villages under the jurisdiction of this power house. Earlier, there used to be 74 pc power wastage, but now this figure has come down to 6.4 percent. Most of the houses in the area have electricity connection and are getting full quality electricity, said Ajmer Discom Managing Director NS Nirvana.

As part of Discom’s Adarsh GSS campaign, Buhana’s team had started the campaign in May by adopting Kakra GSS. Discom officials first started the consultation with the villagers. The meters of all the consumers connected to five feeders have been installed in sealed boxes on poles away from home. New armored cables inserted, poles installed to raise dangling wires, and new connections issued.
