3 sent to NIA custody; 9 more questioned in UDPR

Udaipur: The NIA team, investigating the Kanhaiya Lal murder expanded its scope and raided many places in Udaipur on Monday night and Tuesday.  

Team questioned 9 suspicious people including Sadar Mujeeb Siddiqui, Naib Sadar Mohammad Ashfaq Khan, Joint Secretary Umar Farooq, Maulana Zulkar Nain, former Vice President Munawwar Ashraf, former Sadar Khaleel Ahmed were interrogated.

The NIA allowed them to go in the evening and asked to reach Jaipur at 10 am on Wednesday.  The questioning took place in the district police line. Questions related to the procession taken out on June 20 were asked from them.

5 received threats in udpr including kanhaiya
In the police investi-gation so far, it has come to fore that a total of 5 people had received threats in Udaipur. Kanhaiya Lal was one of them. Udaipur IG Praful Kumar said that all these threats were given before the murder. However, the direct connection of those arrested, with Riaz and Ghaus, has not been revealed. So far, Udaipur Police has also arrested 6 people for provocative social media posts. From Tuesday, the curfew in Udaipur has been reduced to just 6 hours.
