Chief Secretary chairs a meeting to take stock of preparations for “The Great Indian Travel Bazaar 2024

Jaipur: A meeting convened at the Government Secretariat on Thursday, led by Chief Secretary Shri Sudhansh Pant, to discuss arrangements for the forthcoming three-day event, "The Great Indian Travel Bazaar 2024," scheduled to take place in Jaipur from May 5th to 7th, 2024. The primary objective of the Travel Bazaar is to boost tourism in Rajasthan.

The Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of showcasing Rajasthan's tourism highlights at the event. It was instructed to extend invitations to stakeholders, including foreign delegates, in accordance with Rajasthan's customs. Additionally, he mandated the prominent inclusion of Rajasthani cuisine in at least one meal to promote the region's culinary delights.

Shri Pant directed to enhance the appeal of the three-day event's opening ceremony along with showcasing cultural performances that highlight the art, tourism, and history of Rajasthan in an engaging manner.

Dr. Rashmi Sharma, the Tourism Director, provided thorough details of the GITB schedule during the meeting. She mentioned that the India Expo will take place on the first day, May 5th, 2024, Wednesday, at Maharani Mahal Rambagh Palace. The event will run from 9:45 am to 4:30 pm. The exhibition is set for May 6th and 7th, 2024, at JECC Hall in Sitapura, Jaipur, from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. It aims to host B2B meetings with foreign tour operators to boost tourism in Rajasthan. Following the event, these operators will have the chance to explore Rajasthan's tourist spots from 8th May. This opportunity will allow them to immerse themselves in the state's attractions. 

The objective of the Wed in India Expo is to attract both domestic and international tourists to choose Rajasthan as their wedding destination, thus boosting the state's tourism industry. The formal opening ceremony of GITB will take place at Jai Mahal Palace at 6:30 pm on the same day. On the second day and third day, on the 6th and 7th of May 2024, the exhibition will be organized at JECC Hall in Sitapura, Jaipur from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. In which B2B meetings will be organized with foreign tour operators to promote tourism in Rajasthan. After this event, foreign tour operators will also be offered tours to Rajasthan from May 8. So that they will be able to experience the tourist attractions in Rajasthan.

Dr. Rashmi Sharma informed that "The Great Indian Travel Bazaar 2024" will feature 250 foreign tour operators alongside numerous international and domestic wedding planners. These participants will showcase their tourism and wedding-related offerings. The event will see the participation of tourism boards from Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Tamil Nadu, and Orissa. Several travel trade associations from Rajasthan are taking part in this event. Notable ones include FICCI, the Indian Heritage Hotels Association, the Rajasthan Association of Tour Operators, and the Hotels and Restaurant Association of Rajasthan.

The Chief Secretary directed RTDC, the police department, the medical and health department, the autonomous government department, the Jaipur Municipal Corporation Heritage and Greater, UDH, JDA, Archeology and Museum to ensure everything perfect for "The Great Indian Travel Bazaar 2024". Also, departments like JVVNL, DIPR, Airport Authority Jaipur, and the forest department were told to handle their tasks for the event, so that the delegates from India and abroad coming to this event return with a good experience.

In the meeting, DGP Mr. U R Sahu, ACS Forest Mrs. Aparna Arora, Commissioner Jaipur Police Mr. Biju George Joseph, ADG Traffic Mr. Hawa Singh Ghumaria, Principal Secretary UDH and LSG Mr. Bhaskar A Sawant, Jaipur District Collector Mr. Prakash Rajpurohit and officials of other departments. Officers were present.

It is noteworthy that the 13th edition of “The Great Indian Travel Bazaar” has been organized by the Rajasthan Tourism Department since 2008.
