WEAVING LOVE

Bringing your childhood dream to life feels like a great achievement, doesn’t it? Pari Choudhary, Founder and Creative Head of BUNAAI, one of India’s most loved clothing brands, had one such dream since she was a teenager, which she brought to life at the age of just 23 years. Talking about her brand, Pari said, “I have been extremely passionate about fashion and loved creating beautiful renditions of clothing that mesmerized women across age groups, that ended in the curation of my baby brand- BUNAAI. From a team of just three people back in 2016, we have hundreds of proud members now, and we've truly come a long way.”

Pari’s vision for BUNAAI was simple- the modern Indian woman needed a brand that kept her connected to her roots and enabled her to express herself authentically while also not burning a hole in her pocket, and that is exactly what she gave them. She mentioned “I wanted to create something that was not only stylish and modern but also reflected the rich and diverse heritage of India.”

Talking about the major achievements of the brand so far, Pari said, “One of our major achievements is being one of India's most loved ethnic wear brands. I have also been awarded the E-Commerce Tech Women Entrepreneur Award and Bunaai has ranked 28th in Inc42's List of India's Fastest Growing D2C Brands. We have also had a lot of fun in the past collaborating with Bollywood actors, influencers and celebrities and have been featured in various fashion publications.”

While the competition in the fashion industry can be tough, Pari believes in focusing on the brand’s unique selling points and staying true to their values. “I believe if you do good work, know your audience well and listen to their needs and desires, you can really do wonders,” she said, talking about how BUNAAI is still topping the list, with a lot of competition in the same industry.

On being asked about what she would like to say to the young talent who are aiming to start their businesses in the similar field, Pari said, “Don't be afraid to take risks and be innovative, and always stay true to yourself and your brand.”

“It's also important to build a strong network of mentors, collaborators, and supporters who can offer guidance and support. Never lose touch with your audience. And most importantly, enjoy the journey and embrace the challenges - building a successful brand takes patience, consistency, hard work and dedication, but it's also incredibly rewarding,” she added.
