SUMMER DYNAMICS OF COLOURS & NEUTRALS

Every summer the trend scales get tipped toward either bright colours or their pastel shades, but the summer of 2022 is not ready to bid adieu to fall favourite: a neutral colour palette.

Colours are a source of happiness, when done right, it oozes confidence. But be that as it may, designers and fashion labels like Jacquemus, Alexander McQueen, Celine and Louis Vuitton have showcased a juxtaposition of colours at the Spring/ Summer 2022 fashion shows.

In conversation with Shishta Maurya, a fashion and lifestyle content creator, City First unveiled which colours are wardrobe worth it.

• Amid colour trends like neon and bright red, which colours would you suggest investing in?

As it is summer, I would say neon is the thing which one should invest in. It's fun, trendy and can spruce up a rather dull outfit. Summers are all about brightness so I am someone who is always a neon fan and bright colours like orange, blue, and green are trending and also, look so lively.

• Neutrals are still here, so how can one incorporate them into their wardrobe?

If we talk about neutrals they make classic pieces like blacktop/shirts, brown pants, tank tops in black/white or beige colours, and white dresses or bottoms are a few key pieces. Just in case you don't know how to mix and match your outfits, neutrals are the safest option and will never go out of trend.

• What kind of clothing to invest in for neutrals in summer?

I prefer co-ord sets or shirts and loose-fitting pants or trousers with a summer coat will make a great statement piece.

• How do you accessorise when wearing bright bold colours?

I would say minimally because your outfit is enough to make noise. Maybe you can opt for chunky earrings or just a few midi rings will do. Don't overdo yourself with the accessories, please.
