Roshni Walia: The love television gives is incomparable

Roshni Walia started her career as a child artist and now has reached the stage of her career where she is now a well-known face in the television industry. The actress was last seen in ‘Tara from Satara’ on SONY TV. Roshni sat down with City First to talk about building her career from scratch, moving to Mumbai from Allahabad and more.

Talking about her journey as an actress, Roshni said, “My journey till now has been good but also painful because I miss Allahabad immensely. I especially miss Allahabad’s food. I think any small-town person who has been living away from their hometown would relate to me. Nonetheless, I feel grateful to have reached this far in my career and to make my city proud. Of course, it requires a lot of hard work and patience but time helps you too. So, it is a good experience.”

She mentioned that although her parents supported her career choice, she struggled with adjusting to shifting to a different city. Roshni stated, “Bombay’s Rs 100 is Allahabad’s Rs 1000! So, it is a struggle to leave your whole life behind to come to a new city. But I would like to thank my family for supporting me throughout it and if one works hard, the struggles subside eventually. Also, when you see your dreams coming true, these struggles seem very small in front of them. So, all the blood and sweat I put in while standing in audition lines and facing constant rejections are worth it in the end.”

Comparing her experience with films and television both, the actress revealed that the love that television has given her is incomparable. “Both the journeys are very different but the love and respect that you get through television is something incomparable. It is very lovely to see fans treat you as their family. Whenever the audience meets me, they think of me as their child and family. They connect to the character so much. So, I would say that television’s love is overwhelming,” the actress chirped.

Before signing off, Roshni mentioned how she loves to watch Bigg Boss but knows that she cannot survive in the house. “I cannot survive without my phone or my family. This is why I hugely respect the people who enter the Bigg Boss house. There is so much hard work and focus required on the show and the competition is deadly too. So, hats off to everyone who has survived the show.”
