Marvellous Mahima: A rising star

Style is something that expresses who you are in your way because the joy of fashion is also an art. City First spoke to one such wonderful soul Mahima Sharma who believes that being genuine is the true expression of beauty. Here are some excerpts of that tete-a-tete. 

Describe yourself for us. What are the challenges that you faced in the fashion industry? 
My name is Mahima Sharma and I am from the Pink City i.e. Jaipur, Rajasthan. I always dreamt of being a supermodel from a very young age. Therefore, I participated in Elite Miss Rajasthan to pursue my dreams and it allowed me to fulfil my dreams as a model. Being a government employee, I found it very difficult to join this industry. However, I am thankful to my family and friends who supported me. I have devoted three years to transforming myself into a model. I am still learning about the fashion industry. I have given my heart and soul to it to become a supermodel.

What inspired you to get into the world of modelling?
I decided to be a model and no one inspired me to join this industry. However, I gained many supporters, who inspired and supported me in every step, after I joined this industry. I would like to thank Gaurav Gaur for mentoring me throughout this journey.

Talk to us about the most memorable moments in your career. 
There have been many memorable moments in this journey. One of the best moments that I witnessed was when I was awarded the best ramp walk model in Rajasthan. I am a government employee so I do not get enough time to pursue my dreams in modelling. Therefore, I have taken a long leave to open my agency titled Elite Modeling School to teach about modelling.

Any message for the upcoming models? 
I would like to share with the upcoming models that it is a wonderful industry and all you need is an easy-going approach with a will to go the extra mile. A genuine person is more likely to be rebooked for other shoots. Always remember that you are a part of a team hence coordinate with your team members well. You will have to pull your weight because nobody likes high-maintenance divas.
