Insurance broker arrested for Rs 16.9 Cr GST fraud in Bikaner
Jaipur/Bikaner: The Jaipur regional unit of Directorate of Goods and Service Tax Intelligence (DGGI) arrested an insurance broker in Bikaner for 16.90 crore GST evasion. Accused Parvez was presented in the Economic Offences Court, where Judge Sunil Kumar Meena sent the accused to 14 days judicial custody.
Parvez has been accused of providing services as an insurance broker. Various private insurance companies were contacted on his behalf. Agent services were provided to the company for intermediary in sale of insurance policies and for facilitating insurance claim processes. Parvez was allegedly taking the help of Girnar Insurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd. and Girnar Finserv Pvt. Ltd. of Gurugram, Haryana in this fraud. GST adjustment was done through fake billing of advertisements from Delhi, Noida, Punjab and Haryana.
