EXPANDING INDIAN HERITAGE & ART

Minister in govern - ment of Rajasthan, Dr BD Kalla met Vincenzo Di Luca, ambassador of Italy on Thursday as a part of the ‘Vita Nova’ exhibition which is being held in the Alankar Art Gallery of Jawahar Kala Kendra.

Discussion aimed at the idea of establishing an alliance between the art, culture and rich heritage of Rajasthan and Italy.

“There is a decade old cultural relationship between Rajasthan and Italy. Renowned Italian archaeologist LP Tessitori has also immensely contributed in the archaeology of Rajasthan,” said Kalla.

The minister expressed that art from Indian and Rajasthani origin should also be exhibited and promoted at different places in Italy.

He also briefed the ambassador about the events, traditions and festivals related to art that are organised in Rajasthan. Luca was highly impressed and he appreciated the artistic and cultural tradition of Rajasthan.

During the discussion he stressed on the prospect of the development of ties of art, technology and enterprise between Rajasthan and Italy.

It is to be noted that the ‘Vita Nova’ exhibition has recently been inaugurated by the minister BD Kalla.

The meeting was also attended by curator of the exhibition Myna Mukherjee, additional director general of Jawahar Kala Kendra, Anuradha Gogiya and the artists of the exhibition.
