COLOURS ARE EMOTIONS

The object of art is not to reproduce reality, but to create a reality of the same intensity. And it will remain the most astonishing activity of mankind born out of the struggle between wisdom and madness, between dream and reality in our mind. It is the expression of the most profound thoughts in the simplest way.

  • Tell us something about yourself and your art?

I am an artist from Lucknow and I run an Instagram page: @coloursbyanki. With my artwork and creativity, I try to connect one's feelings and emotions with colours. I call myself a budding artist and have worked with various influencers, collaborators, and professionals across the industry to deliver my best work.

  • When did you decide that you shall take up art as your career?

Back in 2019 while pursuing my MBA I decided to take my artwork to a next level. And thereafter, my art page @coloyrsbyanki came into existence. And I am proud to say that there has been so much looking back since then.

  • What role does the artist have in society?

In my opinion, artists give a Colourful perspective to things. We find colours (happiness) in dull moments. We express collective emotions from small objects of nature. New ideas can be brought to life and these ideas can lead to small or large changes in society.

  • What does your artwork represent?

Does your art represent something about you? Each artwork of mine is a piece of me, reflecting my true self. My art is a clear picture of the emotion and theme.

  • What inspires you? What connection do you have to your art?

My hobby and my passion for paintings drive me each day towards my art studio. I have had a deep connection with colours ever since my childhood. Participating in events, competitions and exhibitions have been my thing. I see art as my oxygen!

  • What do you like to do besides art?

I like travelling. I have travelled to places for my education and professional commitments. I feel travelling to different places has given me a perspective and it helps me boost my creativity. I get inspired by different art works I see in different cities.

  • Who are your biggest artistic influences?

I am inspired by the beauty of this nature. The thought I always have is to bring this beauty of nature to paper before it's lost. Hence I keep painting and inspiring myself to work hard each day.
