Tigress Rajmata battling old age and injuries in Sariska

Jaipur: Sariska’s Tigress ST-2, popular as Rajmata, is battling old age and injuries. On Thursday, a deep wound was seen on the left shoulder of the tigress, who was recovering in the enclosure. After this, in presence of ACS Shikhar Agarwal, ST 2 was tranquilized and her right shoulder surgery was done.

During this, Field Director Roop Narayan Meena, DCF Devendra Jagawat, Range Officer Jitendra Chaudhary, Senior Veterinarians Dr Arvind Mathur and Dr DD Meena were also present. Earlier, on Aug 9, the forest officials tranquilised her and kept her in an enclosure. She is more than 17 years old. ST-2 was born in 2005. Ranthambore’s famous tigress Machli’s daughter ST-2 was brought here in 2008. ST-2 was mostly spotted in Akbarpur and Tehla range and in 2012, she gave birth to two female cubs.
