Ticket is secondary, party is first: Mathur

Jaipur: Senior BJP leader and former Rajya Sabha MP Om Mathur reacted to the speculation that the formula of cutting tickets of many leaders and giving them to new people will be implemented in Rajasthan like it was done in Gujarat. “Getting tickets is not a big deal. People should join the party and new people should get a chance,” he said in a special conversation with First India. Mathur said about the Gujarat ticket formula that only 44 tickets were cut in Gujarat and new people were given opportunities. “This is not a huge number. Tickets keep changing in Rajasthan too but an atmosphere is being created by spreading such rumours. If new people come to the party then they should get a chance,” he said. Mathur targeted the Congress for raising questions on the lack of crowd gathering in Jan Aakrosh Yatras as compared to Bharat Jodo Yatra.
