Tackle cybercrime, extremist outfits with coordination: Shah

Jaipur: In view of the growing threat of cybercrime, a strategy to prevent financial fraud and cyber crimes will be formulated by a committee headed by union home secretary. Union home minister Amit Shah directed to constitute the committee in the meeting of the Northern Zonal Council held at Hotel Rambagh in Jaipur on Saturday. The stakeholders expressed concern on the cyber crime and emphasized on making an effective strategy to deal with it. Shah said that organised and coordinated cyber attacks have a profound impact on national security, public system and economic activities, and in view of this, there is a need for all to work together to ensure security of national cyberspace and overall civil security. “The Northern Zonal Council discussed the growing threat of cybercrime and held discussion on strategies for its prevention.

The Home Minister stressed upon the states & UTs to conduct awareness drives on cybervigilance through various mediums,” an official release said. Shah advised the central and state government agencies to use common software developed by MHA, work together to identify the issues of concern and trace the offenders and take strict action against them.
The minister also stressed on the need to train police officers, public prosecutors, telecom companies and their PoS agents with new technology and advanced skills. He called for maximum use of IT tools to detect cyber crimes and take systematic measures to prevent their recurrence. Shah said that in his three years of experience, more than 75 % of issues in council have been resolved. A total of 47 issues were discussed in the 30th meeting of the council.

During the NZC meet, CM Ashok Gehlot highlighted benefits of OPS saying after OPS employees will work diligently. “That’s why our government took a decision in interest of employees from a human point of view.” “ Centre & other states should also come forward & follow this decision,” he said. He also highlighted initiatives like CM Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme, Mahatma Gandhi English Medium School, Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme, Indira Rasoi Yojna, IM Shakti Udan scheme. He said that the government launched a revolutionary scheme like IM Shakti Udan to distribute sanitary napkins. “ Former BJP govt led by Vasundhara Raje had made napkins available to girls, but the present Cong govt is providing the napkins to girls as well as women in villages. For Mahatma Gandhi English Medium Schools, he said that even lottery has to be drawn for admission in schools.
