State Govt halts delimitation of municipal wards
Jaipur: The Local Self Government department has issued an order to stop the work of ward demarcation of newly formed municipalities in the state till further orders.
The demarcation work was to be carried out from 11 June to 24 August. Sources said that the Bhajan Lal government is reviewing the former Congress government’s decision to form 86 new municipalities and therefore the demarcation work has been stopped.
There have been constant complaints regarding formation of wards therefore tge demarcation has been stopped for the time being. The wards were formed on the basis of the census- 2011. The BJP government in the state is also repeatedly talking about reviewing the panchayats, urban bodies and districts formed in the previous government. This was also mentioned in the budget presented in the assembly on Wednesday.
