State govt augments fleet of ambulances

Jaipur: The medical department has incorporated 167 new vehicles in its fleet as a replacement to the obsolete basic life support 108 ambulances. Medical Secretary Dr Prithvi has issued orders in this regard to the concerned firm. He told that complaints were being received about these old ambulances breaking down midway as they have been in operation for a long. Due to this many times, there was a delay in providing emergency medical facilities taking a long to take the patients to the hospital. Keeping this in mind, instructions have been given to the service provider firm GVK EMRI to include new ambulances by declaring the old ambulances as unfit. Medical Secretary informed new emergency 108 ambulances have been issued 15 in Jodhpur, 15 in Udaipur, 14 in Alwar, 11 in Nagaur, 9 in Jhunjhunu, 10 in Sriganganagar, 7 in Jaipur I, 7 in Sikar, 6 in Bharatpur, 6 in Karauli, 6 in Kota, 5 in Bundi, 5 in Pali, 5 in Sawaimadhopur, 5 in Jaipur II and 5 in Barmer, etc.
