SOPs & action plan to ensure Cheetah’s safety discussed

Jaipur: In the meeting between forest officials from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan discussion were held for areas of conflict, concern, and cooperation between the two states for cheetah management, with a detailed roadmap to further the cheetah project. The feasibility study for the project will be undertaken by the WII at the earliest, and an MoU between the two states was agreed upon.

The meeting also decided to create a SOPs for free-range movement of cheetahs and prepare a detailed action plan for effective management. Before releasing cheetahs into the wild from Kuno National Park, Deputy Conservators of Forests in Rajasthan will form teams to generate awareness among local communities. Veterinary doctors & forest staff from the concerned districts of Rajasthan will also be trained.
