Shortage of DLs & RCs plagues people

Jaipur: In the transport department, the pendency of driving licence and Registration certificates is not reducing due to which the people who buy new vehicles and those who get driving licence are facing a lot of trouble. People who bought vehicle one and a half month ago have not yet received RC from transport offices. The situation is that due to lack of smart cards in Jaipur RTO alone, RCs of 18,000 vehicles have not been printed, while RC pending for about 40,000 vehicles. Due to nonavailability of RC, the police is challaning the vehicles of the people. On the other hand, the company supplying smart cards says that their tender has ended on October 31. The balance amount has also not been paid.
