RHB hands over Rs 23 cr cheque to JMCG

Jaipur: The Rajasthan Housing Board (RHB) has provided an amount of Rs 23.23 crore to Jaipur Municipal Corporation Greater for development works. RHB Commissioner Pawan Arora presented a cheque of this amount to Jaipur Municipal Corporation Greater’s Mayor Saumya Gurjar and Corporation Commissioner Mahendra Soni at divisional headquarters on Monday. The RHB Commissioner said that on the initiative of Urban Development and Housing Minister Shanti Kumar Dhariwal, the Housing Board has paid such a huge amount to the Municipal Corporation for the first time in the last 15 years.

It is notable that there is a provision to give 15 percent of the amount received from the properties sold by the Housing Board to the Municipal Corporation. On the other hand, the Housing Board regularly gets the development work done in the Municipal Corporation area. In the joint meeting held with the Municipal Corporation last year, the amount payable to the Corporation in lieu of the properties sold during the years 2010-11 to 2019-20 and the amount spent by the Board on development works in the Municipal Corporation area was adjusted. After adjustment, an amount of Rs 55.58 crore is outstanding on the Corporation.
