RHB Commissioner now focuses on ‘makeover’ of Ganga Marg!

Jaipur: About 5 kms between Jagatpura CBI Gate to Indira Gandhi Nagar, the Ganga Marg, is going to undergo a massive change as the RHB has started the work of strengthening and beautifying this link road. Soon, the 200 feet wide road will not only have vehicles running unhindered, but have special green track for people to jog and walk on, parallel to the railway line. RHB Commissioner Pawan Arora inquired about the progress of the work under construction from Jagatpura CBI Gate to Khatipura flyover (Indira Gandhi Nagar). The RHB Commissioner said, “The Ganga Marg passing through Indira Gandhi Nagar developed by the RHB is a planned road in the master plan of Jaipur. It connects Indira Gandhi Nagar and Jagatpura to NH-21 and satellite town Bassi, as well as connects to Agra Road and Ring Road. In times to come, it will be the main road of South Jaipur. The medium of access to Indira Gandhi Nagar Extension Scheme of RHB & the new schemes proposed in Siroli will also pass through this road.”

Arora said that at present the traffic load on this road is continuously increasing. “In view of this, the Board planning to develop this road as a 6-lane road on lines of Mahal Road with a financial & administrative investment of Rs 4,800L. Jogging track will have beautiful landscaping. During the construction, special care will be taken that not even a single tree is cut. In the 1st phase of the scheme, the work of road excavation has been done in the chainage (0.00 to 1700.00 meters) length,” Arora said.
