Patrika leading in press freedom, says CIC chief Uday Mahurkar

Jaipur: An award function was organised by Rajasthan Patrika in which Central Information Commissioner Uday Mahurkar delivered the keynote address.

Uday Mahurkar said that this is the era of TRP and the news channels have to think about it. “The contribution of Rajasthan Patrika is always commendable and the group has always been leading regarding freedom of journalism. History should never be written from a different perspective. What is true in history should come to the fore,” he said.

The function was held in the courtyard of Patrikayan in Jhalana Institutional area.
Ravidutt Sharma from Jodhpur was awarded the first prize under Pt Jhabarmal Sharma Award for his story ‘Gumshuda’ and Shalini Goyal was awarded the second prize for her story ‘Mithai’.

Similarly, under the poem category, the first prize was given to Dinesh Vijayvargiya of Bundi for the poem ‘Assi Paar Ke Buzurg’ and the second prize to Sanjeev Thakur of Raipur (Chhattisgarh) for the poem ‘Women are rivers’.

First India Channel Head Dr Jagdeesh Chandra also attended the function and gave a bouquet to Patrika group chairman Gulab Kothari and wished him for the ceremony.

Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, former Ministers Raghu Sharma, Arun Chaturvedi, RHB Chief Pawan Arora and other dignitaries were present in the function.
