Old buildings to be redeveloped: GS Sandhu

Jaipur: In a meeting chaired by UDH Advisor GS Sandhu here on Friday, it was decided to redevelop the old buildings situated in the prime locations of the major cities of the state. To start with, Nehru Place on Tonk Road in the city will first be taken up for redevelopment.

Building it a new, Nehru Place will be turned into a 15 to 17-floor-high commercial complex. Presently, it is just a single-storey dilapidated building grabbing 40,000 square metre of prime land.

It will be razed to the ground to make room for a magnificent new high-rise complex. Sandhu instructed JDA to prepare a status report and conduct a survey for the redevelopment plan.

In the meeting, discussions were also held about Gole Market located in Jawahar Nagar, localities near the railway station, Gopalpura bypass and redevelopment of Kota’s Gumanpura market.

KL Meena, Jogaram, Ravi Jain, Pawan Arora, HS Sancheti, Vinay Kumar Dalela, Subhash Chandra Sharma and RK Tulara were also present in the meeting.
