MINES DEPT TO UNDERTAKE CAMPAIGN FROM JANUARY 23

Jaipur: Additional Chief Secretary (Mines) Dr Subodh Agarwal on Thursday took a review meeting of the mining department in the secretariat. ACS Dr Subodh Agarwal informed that 100 percent compliance with mining safety standards will be ensured by running a campaign in the state from January 23.

“If safety standards are not followed during the inspection, strict action will be taken and mining work will be stopped. By ensuring compliance with safety standards, effective prevention of mining accidents and diseases caused by mining can also be stopped,” said ACS (Mines) Dr Agarwal.

Director (Mines) Sandesh Nayak said that detailed guidelines for the campaign starting from January 23 are being issued. The field officers of the department will have to visit the mining areas and ensure that the safety standards are followed.
