Man dies of wrong blood transfusion at SMS hosp

Jaipur: In a case of sheer negligence at the city’s SMS Hospital, a poor man died due to wrong blood transfusion. Deceased Sachin was the only earning member in the family. Action has been taken against three doctors and one nursing staff found guilty in the investigation. Associate Professor (Ortho) SK Goyal, Resident Daulatram and Dr Rishabh Chalana have been put on APO while Nursing Officer Ashok Kumar Verma has been suspended. Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar gave instructions for action against the culprits.

Meanwhile, relatives and friends of the deceased gathered outside the hospital. The family said, “We demand compensation of Rs 1 crore, a government job and strict action against the culprits.” Hawa Mahal MLA Balmukund Acharya and former minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas also reached and talked to people at the SMS police station.
