Kishangarh Airport on verge of closure with no ops

Jaipur: The Kishangarh airport is on the verge of closure as there is crisis on flight operations within 4 years of commencing flight operations on 8 October 2018. At present, not even one flight is operated on an average daily. All 3 flights of SpiceJet are also stopped and now only Star Air flights operate. In winter last year, where 5 to 6 flights were operating daily from Kishangarh Airport, now there is confusion about the operation of one flight every day. Due to non-operation of flights, now passengers have to travel to Jaipur airport first for air travel. Initially, the airlines started flight operations here very loudly.

But in the atmosphere of recession in the aviation sector, now airlines are avoiding running flights. Sources associated with the airline said that the airline was not incurring any financial loss due to closure of VGF. The airline’s flights to Delhi, Mumbai were running full. VGF is given to the airline only when there are less passengers and the airline is incurring losses. A time limit for giving VGF was fixed in the UDAN scheme. After the expiry of the period, the payment of VGF was stopped. At the same time, after SpiceJet, now Star Air has also reduced flights. Earlier the airline used to run one flight on an average daily, but now there is not even one flight running daily. Star Air flights are now operating on an average 2 days a week to Indore and 2 days to Surat.
