Intense heat grounds flights in state

Jaipur: In wake of heatwave, flight operations have stopped from Jaisalmer and Bikaner and reduced from Udaipur, Jodhpur and Kishangarh airports. As summer begins to show its effect and the number of tourists has declined, airlines have also suspended flight operations.

At Jaipur Airport, there were 60 flights daily in winter, now 55 flights on an average. From Udaipur, only 8 flights, Jodhpur 6 flights, Kishangarh 4 flights, Jaisalmer flights stopped after March, Bikaner operations stopped from 26 April.

Interestingly, flight operations were very high in winters, which has now reduced. In the golden city of Jaisalmer, an average of 5 flights were operating daily in winters, which have now completely stopped.
