Hit and run: Strike likely to affect supply chain in Rajasthan

Jaipur: Protests were witnessed across Rajasthan on Monday against the new hit and run law. Truck and trailer association, private bus owners went on strike. Vegetables and fruits could not reach the market. In Ajmer and Jalore, truck owners demonstrated at the collectorate.

Drivers blocked the highway in Chandwaji and Dausa. Operation of roadways buses from Alwar and Matsya Nagar depots was stopped. Depot manager Yash Pradhan said that more than 100 roadways buses did not operate on Monday.

In Bhilwara, agitators stopped buses going from Bhilwara depot to Kota, Ajmer, Banswara, Jaipur, Bikaner, Bharatpur. According to officials, more than 90 roadways buses were affected. A memorandum was submitted to the officials at the Collectorate on behalf of Bhilwara Goods Transport Association, Bhilwara District Private Bus Association and All Driver Welfare Association. Roadways bus and taxi drivers also went on strike in Bharatpur.
