HC irked over security of judicial officers

Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court expressed displeasure over the lax security arrangements of judicial officers on the court premises and their residences. A division bench of Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Samir Jain said that the judicial officers do not want to get Z category security, but proper security should be given to them. The court had given guidelines regarding the security of judicial officers in a case in July 2019, but even after this, there has been no improvement in the security system. Now, the court has ordered the Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, the Principal Secretary of the Law Department and the Director General of Police to appear personally on November 10 and inform them about the steps taken for improving security. Besides, the advocate general has also been asked to be present on behalf of the govt in the matter.
