Govt to bring Bill for providing relief to farmers

Jaipur: The State government is now preparing to form Farmers Debt Relief Commission. The government is preparing to bring the Bill in the Assembly. With this, the banks will not be able to auction the land of farmers if the commission is formed.

The Commission will have 5 members including chairman. Retired High Court judge will be the chairman. The Commission will have powers like court. The Commission will have the right to declare any farmer or area as distressed and order to give relief to him. After that the bank will not be able to forcefully recover the loan from that farmer.

After crop damage due to weather or other reasons, the Opposition members usually corner the state government for compensation to the farmers. The government also orders girdawari but the relief to the farmers takes time.
