Gold of ₹5.79L recovered from mouth at airport

Jaipur: The Customs Department seized two gold tablets worth Rs 5.79 lakh from a passenger who had hidden it under his tongue.

He came on an Air India flight from Dubai. Assistant Commissioner Bharat Bhushan Atal said that 55 years old person is a resident of Delhi and works as a helper in Dubai.

He told the customs team that he brought gold to India as price was low. When he came out of the metal detector door, siren sounded.

On examination, two gold tablets were found under the tongue. This is the third incident at Jaipur airport.
