Environmentalists protest over chopping of trees at JPR airport

Jaipur: Environmentalists have started raising protest against felling of 700 trees for expansion of Jaipur International Airport. On Friday, a group of people submitted a memorandum to Chief Airport Officer Vishnu Mohan Jha and demanded that cutting of trees should be stopped. However, official termed trees are being chopped off after due permission and as per rules. The trees, erected in the 50-year-old residential colony of airport authority, are being chopped down to build space for parking of aircraft and a cargo complex. Residential houses were demolished after Adani Group took over airport.
