‘Educate girls to make them self-reliant’

Jaipur: President Draupadi Murmu met the representatives of Saharia and Kathodi tribes at the Raj Bhavan and inquired about their everyday problems. She also asked the tribal community not to marry children at an early age and pay attention towards the education of girls and make them self-reliant. Murmu said that there is a need to educate the girls as it will give them opportunities to move forward in life. She inquired about the daily routine of the community representatives and asked them about the drinking water, electricity and other facilities available. She emphasized on making efforts to increase livelihood through works related to traditional and manual skills. She inquired about schemes implemented at State govt level for tribal welfare. She also inquired about the work being done for beekeeping in tribal areas and the income generated from it. Governor Kalraj Mishra informed about the work to be done in tribal areas under Samvad and informed about the youth being benefited from skill development and employmentoriented programmes. CM Ashok Gehlot said that State government is committed to tribal welfare & directed the officials to ensure that tribals are benefited.
