Dungarpur Collector goes on maternity leave, DoP to search new official now!

Jaipur: Dungarpur Collector Shubham Chaudhary went on 6-week maternity leave from Thursday. She had taken over the reins of the Collectorate just 4 months back on January 18. Interestingly, under the current government, till now half a dozen Collectors have been shuffled in district namely Rajendra Bhatt, Chetan Deora, Alok Ranjan, Kana Ram, Suresh Kumar Ola & Shubham Chaudhary.

Dungarpur is a politically sensitive tribaldominated district. 4 legislators from the district are from the Congress party, 1 BJP and 2 from BTP. Interestingly, both Congress and BJP are worried about the increasing influence of BTP and Rahul Gandhi’s program at Beneshwar Dham was an attempt to give political ground to Congress in the tribal belt. However, just one day after Rahul’s visit, resignation of Cong MLA Ganesh Ghoghra from party is a major political devp and now that the Collector has gone on leave, it has become another point of discussion.

Now it has become a major challenge for DoP to find a new Collector for Dungarpur as need of the hour is an experienced and influential officer who can stay put till elections. There is an immense need for stability in the Collector-administration and DoP should not undertake a new experiment and take a risk.
