Discrepancies make NCRB rape report unjust

Jaipur: Amid the debate on the credibility of the NCRB report, intriguing revelations have come to fore in the First India News investigation. Rajasthan has been ranked number one in rape cases in the NCRB report, but there is a big flaw in it. According to the data, in the year 2021 in Rajasthan, where a total of 1,453 cases of rape of minor girls have been reported under the POCSO Act, there are 15 States in which no incident of rape with minor girls has been reported, which puts the entire report of NCRB in the dock because in these states the names of many big states like Bihar, West Bengal, Karnataka, and Delhi are included.

The State with nil figures of rapes with minor girls include Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Odisha, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, and Delhi.
