‘Corridor will open new opportunities in State’

Jaipur: PM Narendra Modi, under the Bharatmala Project, virtually inaugurated two sections of 53.300 km of six-lane access controlled greenfield highway section of Amritsar-Jamnagar Economic Corridor in Rajasthan on Monday. The project is part of the Amritsar-Jamnagar Highway and connects major industrial, agricultural and cultural centres of India. Addressing the programme at RIC in Jaipur, Diya Kumari said that the corridor will open new opportunities for economic development in the entire state.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari has approved about Rs 320 crore to the PHED for drinking water and contingency works related to it in the summer. The department will now be able to prepare a local contingency plan.

The Deputy CM said that during summers, women have to struggle to get water. She said that works like supply of drinking water by tankers, hired vehicles for hand pump repair, and work to keep the water system smooth can be done. An amount of Rs 50 lakh per district will be given to the District Collectors to address the drinking water crisis.
