CM GEHLOT APPEALS PRIVATE HOSPITALS TO COOPERATE IN THE RIGHT TO HEALTH BILL

Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday appealed to the private hospitals to cooperate in implementing the Right to Health Bill in the state.

He said that the State Government is committed to provide excellent health services to the people of the State and there will be no shortage of funds for the medical sector as it is a top priority of the state government.

Gehlot was addressing a programme at SMS Hospital in which new machines and facilities were inaugurated. CM inaugurated 4 machines including the Spectral City Scan Machine for `12 cr, Digital Substitution Angiography Lab at a cost of `10 cr, new cath lab in Dept of Cardiology for `6.5 cr, and Digital Subtraction Angiography Advance Lab for `6 cr in Dept of Radio Diagnosis. CM said that with installation of new machines treatment would be facilitated.

Health related problems affect every household, the CM said. “Earlier a financially weak person wouldn’t afford expensive treatment but today due to Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme, this worry has been resolved,” he said. Gehlot appealed to doctors to not go on strikes every time they have a demand. “Health and Medical Sector is my top priority. There will be no shortage of funds, but one of my demands is that they (doctors) will not go on strike at least,” he said.

During the CM’s visit to hospital, a 15-yearold girl Annu who benefited from free cochlear implant & her father met him and expressed their gratitude.
