CM agrees to proposal of renaming of new district as ‘Jaipur Rural’

Jaipur: In view of the controversy over new districts, CM Ashok Gehlot held a meeting at CMR on Monday to take Congress MLAs and Ministers of Jaipur district into confidence as no area around Jaipur is ready to join Dudu. The MLAs and Ministers of Jaipur dist suggested that no one would mind if the district is renamed ‘Jaipur Rural.’ Gehlot gave his consent to this. A final decision in this regard is likely to be taken soon.

In Dudu district, there was a ruckus on Sunday. After protests against the inclusion of Sambhar, Phulera and Jobner escalated, police lathicharged the protesters.

People of Bagru, Jobner, Phulera, Sambhar areas are not ready to go to Dudu. Agriculture Min Lalchand Kataria told CM that the people from Jobner to the surrounding areas do not want to separate from Jaipur. “If this matter is not resolved soon, there will be loss,” he said. MLAs told CM that the capital should not be divided.
