Boy drowns in septic tank

Jaipur: In a tragic incident, a boy drowned in a septic tank while he was playing around it in the Muhana area of the city on Monday. After an intense search for an hour, the police and civil defence teams managed to extricate the body.

According to sources, 8-year-old Shekhar was playing downstairs when his mother, who works as a sanitary worker at Bony Heights residential complex, was engaged in work inside the building.

Mistakenly, he slipped into the septic tank as its lid was open.

The family of the deceased has accused the support staff of the complex of negligence and demanded an enquiry as to who had removed the lid which caused the mishap.
