BJP CORNERS CONG ON SALASAR GATE DEMOLITION

  • The entire matter will be taken up in the Assembly, say BJP leaders
  • Ram Darbar on Salasar Gate was allegedly demolished on March 15

Churu/Jaipur: The matter of demolishing the entrance of Ram Darbar in Sujangarh of Churu is now gaining momentum.

Video of the entrance being demolished is being circulated on social media and it is being described as an attempt to play with Hindu religion and faith.

The BJP is busy cornering the Congress government on the matter while Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Mahant Dinesh Giri Maharaj of Fatehpur Budhgiri Math have warned of agitation.

On the other hand, Congress says that a non-issue is being deliberately made up into an issue. Notably, the work of widening the Sujangarh-Salasar four lane road is in progress. On February 2, the Public Works Department (PWD) had sent a notice to the Salasar Dham Development Committee regarding this and asked to remove the entrance.

On March 11, the committee officials were again made aware of this. After this, on the night of 15 March, the entrance was demolished with the help of JCB.

As soon as the info was received, the local organizations of Salasar blocked the road and staged a protest. The protestors were later assured by PWD officials that the entrance will be constructed again once the work is completed.
