BJP, CONGRESS CLAIM CROSS VOTING

Jaipur: Congress leaders on Monday claimed that the United Opposition Front’s candidate Yashwant Sinha will get an edge from Rajasthan with a lead of 56 votes and make a dent in NDA vote bank. Congress camp said that two BJP MLAs voted in favour of Sinha. BJP and RLP together got only 71 votes, while Congress got the support of 127 MLAs. However, since the election is confidential, it is not possible to know who voted for whom. If the BJP camp is breached, the party will lose 258 vote value. The value of the vote of an MLA of Rajasthan is fixed at 129. Former CM Vasundhara Raje cast her vote at around 3.30 pm.

BJP MLA Shobharani Kushwaha cast her vote at around 4.30 pm as she was busy in some meeting earlier. Deputy Chief Whip Mahendra Choudhary received her at Assembly Gate & after voting he dropped her at the gate, sending hints that she voted for Sinha. Kushwaha was suspended from BJP for cross voting in the RS polls in favour of the Congress candidate. There are a total of 200 MLAs in Rajasthan Legislative Assembly besides 25 LS & 10 RS members.
