Attempts being made to send me to jail: CM

Jaipur: CM Ashok Gehlot on Saturday told the media, “I have a case of defamation against me and attempts are being made to send me to jail. Delegations came to meet me whose money was lost. Then I used the word accused for the first time for the Union Minister. In the history of 5 years, I have never interfered in the work of agencies. Why did he take bail on the basis of apprehension? The word accused has come on record. Had I intervened, Shekhawat would have been arrested. SOG’s job is to arrest. I never interfere in the work of investigative agencies. Why did he take anticipatory bail from HC?”

Meanwhile, during the hearing in Delhi’s Rose Avenue Court on Saturday, Gajendra S Shekhawat’s lawyer Vikas Pahwa presented Shekhawat’s side through VC and demanded to abolish the VC exemption given to CM Gehlot. On the other hand, CM Gehlot’s lawyer said that since hearing judge is on leave, in such a situation, the court cannot give such an order without hearing both the sides.

Meanwhile, First India has received an EXCLUSIVE update on the petition of CM Gehlot in the case. Shekhawat has filed his reply in the Sessions Court and opposed Gehlot’s petition. Shekhawat has said in his reply that the trial should go on in defamation case against Gehlot, because there is enough evidence to run trial against Gehlot. Hearing on Shekhawat’s reply will be held on 16 Sept.
