ADDITIONAL CHARGE TALLY SWELLS FURTHER AS ‘DEARTH’ OF GOOD OFFICIALS CONTINUES!

Jaipur: As reported earlier by First India, the vacant post of Home Secretary has been accorded to IAS Bhanu Prakash Yeturu as an additional charge. In this regard, DoP issued orders on Monday and now Yeturu will carry out the additional charge in addition to his original responsibility of Secretary, labour department. His work load had lessened after the responsibility of Skill Development was removed from him. The DoP issued three more orders of additional charge on Tuesday. Principal Secretary, Forest and Environment - Shikhar Agrawal - is one a one month leave and till his return the additional charge of his post has been handed to ACS Industries Veenu Gupta.

Roadways CMD Sandeep Verma too is on a long leave and his additional charge has been handed to Naveen Jain who is serving as Secretary, Panchayati Raj. Notably, Naveen Jain has served as Roadways CMD in March 2020 as well. Principal Secretary of Cooperative Department Sreya Guha is also on a leave with her husband Sandeep Verma and till her return, the additional charge of her post has been handed to Dinesh Kumar. Notably Dinesh handled the Agriculture and Cooperatives department till April 2022 after which Sreya was given the charge whereas Dinesh was working in Cooperative with complete commitment.

According to knowledgeable sources, this is an all time record for additional charge accorded of senior posts. So far, a dozen officers had been handed the additional charge and now three more officers have been given the additional charge taking the number to 15. Meanwhile, questions are being raised on Finance department according additional charge of Excise Commissioner to CCT Ravi Kumar Surpur, on its own. Sources claim that Excise Commissioner is an IAS cadre post and only DoP can issue orders in this regard.
