2100 vehicles, 360 FIRs, 141 held in illegal mining: Agarwal

Jaipur: Additional Chief Secretary Mines, Petroleum and PHED Subodh Agarwal said that after instructions from Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, in the joint campaign being run against illegal mining activities from July 11, the department has changed the strategy of action, confiscation of big machines and illegal mining. He said that emphasis is on the arrest of those involved in mining activities. Agarwal said that since July 21, more than 185 machines, including 100 HEMM machines have been seized in the state. “More than 2100 vehicles involved in illegal transportation of minerals have been seized. More than 360 FIRs and 141 people have been arrested in the state during this period. Action is going on against illegal mining activities across the state with mutual coordination by the Mines and Police Department. Special instructions have been given for monitoring in Barmer, Pali, Jodhpur, Bhilwara and Tonk,” he said.
