Veteran Actress Helen Returns Before The Cameras After A Decade

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Helen, a name that instantly reminds one of ‘Cabaret’. The actress and dancer had dominated the film screens for 70 years with around 700 films featuring her. Be it a dance number or a sultry supporting character, no one could think of anyone else other than Helen. Now, the veteran actress has returned to acting after a decade with a web series named ‘Brown’. Directed by Abhinay Deo, the show also stars Karisma Kapoor and Surya Sharma.

Helen was last seen in the 2012 movie ‘Heroine’ which coincidentally starred Karisma’s younger sister Kareena Kapoor Khan. The show was supposed to be released last year but the shooting was withheld due to the OMICRON breakout. The shooting was again stalled as Karisma tested positive for COVID-19. Lastly, it was delayed as Abhinay Deo’s father, veteran actor, Ramesh Deo passed away last year. After facing so many obstacles and difficulties, the shooting has finally resumed and there is a hope to complete and release it this year.

Brown is a neo-noir crime drama based on the novel ‘City of Death’ by Abheek Barua. It is set in the city of Kolkata and follows the story surrounding Kapoor, playing the role of a detective.
