Use of Gujarat model of ministerial appointment in UP?

New Delhi: This is not entirely an experiment of the Gujarat model but a glimpse of it is visible in Uttar Pradesh as when the BJP formed the government for the second time in Uttar Pradesh, half of the new ministers were appointed immediately.

Some ministers did not contest and some lost, while 20 of the remaining ministers were not given a chance this time. In this way, out of 52 ministers, half are such ministers, who were not in the previous government.

In this way, even after Yogi became the Chief Minister, the BJP was successful in getting the message of being a new government.

BJP’s formula of removing old ministers and appointing new ministers is old, but the surprise is about those names, who, it was claimed, were sure shot of a ministerial berth. For example Shrikant Sharma, Siddharth Nath Singh and Neelkanth Tiwari.

These three were ministers and all three represent Mathura, Prayag and Varanasi respectively. Shrikant Sharma and Siddharth Nath Singh have lived in Delhi and were the national media incharge and national spokesperson.

These two were also the most popular face of the Yogi government, but both got ‘discharged’. That is why it is being said that in Modi-Shah’s BJP, it is not right for the leaders to come in much discussion.

However, it is also being said that some names have also been cut to balance the list of the central leadership of the party and the list of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

For example, the name of Mahendra Singh and Jai Pratap Singh, considered very close to the Chief Minister, has been striked off. Some ministers were removed to strike a balance, some were left out because of allegations against them, while some were left out because of reports of poor performance.
